Bancon gets green light for first central belt development
Bancon Homes is to expand its operations into the central belt for the first time with a development of four and five-bedroom homes in Strathaven.
Under planning permission granted by South Lanarkshire Council, the company’s new ‘Overton Gardens’ development will be located off Glassford Road and consist of 37 bespoke detached homes. These will range in style and design, with an emphasis on the use of sustainable materials and the provision of high-quality landscaping throughout.
Overton Gardens is the next phase in the approved East Overton masterplan. It will be the first time Bancon Homes has created a development outside the North East of Scotland where it has been operating very successfully for over 40 years and is currently building new homes in Aberdeen, Mintlaw and Banchory.
Earlier this month the company announced that it had also obtained planning permission for 208 homes at its Maidencraig South site in Aberdeen.
Allan Clow, managing director of Bancon Homes, said: “We are delighted that South Lanarkshire Council has approved our planning application for Overton Gardens, and are very much looking forward to introducing a new group of homebuyers to our stunning homes and the beautiful town of Strathaven.
“As businesses continue to face the current challenges, housebuilding has a major role to play in supporting the Scottish economy and helping us through these difficult times. Bancon Homes is pleased to make its own contribution to this as we look to grow our business.”
