Bancon Homes earmarks land near Dobbies for latest phase at Maidencraig South
Bancon Homes has lodged plans to deliver more than 200 new homes at Maidencraig South in the west of Aberdeen.
The developer is seeking permission to build 208 properties, including 36 affordable homes, on a plot of land opposite Dobbies Garden Centre on Lang Stracht.
The other 172 private properties include apartments with between two and four bedrooms, and terraced, semi-detached and detached homes.
The applications forms the latest phase of an approved masterplan which comprises a residential development of 825 homes, plus provisions for commercial and retail outlets.
As part of its planning obligations, Bancon will contribute around £1 million to the local economy – to fund community, healthcare and school facilities as well as improve roads and upgrade the core path network – and provide affordable housing.
In the earlier phases, Bancon Homes completed 128 homes at its developments at Eden and The Reserve and it currently has a development of 40 units on the north side of the Lang Stracht at its Roses at Eden development.
Bancon Homes managing director Allan Clow said: “We are delighted to apply for planning permission for the next phase of our new homes to the west of Aberdeen.
“This location has already proved popular with young families, couples and downsizers who have benefitted from its unique mix of fantastic connectivity and countryside views.”
