Cairn’s Care & Repair service gains quality recognition
Cairn Housing Association’s Care & Repair Service has been awarded with a Scottish Quality Mark by Care & Repair Scotland.
The Quality Mark accreditation recognises the skills, knowledge and effectiveness of Cairn’s Care & Repair Service, which has benefited thousands of people in the Inverness, Nairn and Badenoch & Strathspey areas.
Cairn’s Care & Repair services aim to help older people or those living with disabilities to continue to live in the safety and comfort of their own homes. The Care & Repair team provide assistance with applying for local authority adaptation and repairs grants, and arrange essential works including installation of level access showers, stair lifts, ramps, grab rails, small repairs and the installation of Telecare equipment.
Jason MacGilp, chief executive of the Cairn Housing Group, said: “We’re delighted to have received this hard earned and well-deserved accreditation for the commitment and professionalism of our team in delivering customer focussed services to vulnerable people in the Highlands. Our Care & Repair team has gone from strength to strength and this award demonstrates the teamwork within the team and across the wider Cairn Housing Group.”
Tony Orr, Care & Repair manager, said: “The works we carry out in our customers’ homes are life changing and we’re really proud of the services we provide. To be recognised by Care & Repair Scotland is a great achievement for our team.”
Robert Thomson, national director for Care and Repair Scotland, added: “In many instances, the policies and practices were of such a high standard that they will serve as examples to other Care and Repair teams across Scotland. Congratulations to the team for their commitment to the ethos of Care and Repair and for their exceptional customer service to older and disabled people in the Highlands.”
