CALA given green light for second phase at Bridge of Don development
Aberdeen City Council has approved plans for the second phase of CALA Homes’ Grandhome development in Bridge of Don.
The approval ushers in the creation of an additional 116 three-, four- and five-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached homes which will complement the first 71-home phase.
CALA said its plans for the second phase of CALA at Grandhome were submitted earlier than had been anticipated due to the success of the first release of homes.
Future phases of the overall development include community facilities such as a school, parks and green space for recreational use, as well as retail and office space and amenities.
Lynn Melvin, senior land manager at CALA Homes (North), said: “We’re delighted to have secured approval on our plans for the second phase of our landmark Grandhome development.
“The first homes released there attracted a lot of interest and we’ve received fantastic feedback from homeowners who are now settled in their properties.
“Grandhome is already a neighbourhood in its own right and promises to be one of the most exciting areas within Aberdeen - we’re looking forward to shaping that community further with our latest plans.”
Work on the second phase is due to start on site in Spring 2019.
