Caledonia Housing Association celebrates five years of volunteers
On the final day of Volunteer Week 2017, Caledonia Housing Association hosted an afternoon celebrating five successful years of volunteering paying tribute to its volunteers and volunteer partners.
Gill Donoghue, head of support services at Caledonia Housing Association, presented certificates and awards to Caledonia’s volunteers who put in nearly 4,000 hours of volunteering each year.
Anne Barrowman, one of Caledonia’s volunteer’s from Fintry in Dundee, was also at the event. This was her second volunteering award of the week after receiving the Kathryn Mackenzie, Make a Difference Award at the 2017 Dundee Volunteer of the Year Awards.
With stalls and information on Caledonia’s Home Help Service, HOPE project and Housing Options for Older People, the historic boardroom at the Caledonia Housing Association Broughty office was full with volunteers and volunteers partners
Gill Donoghue said: “Caledonia Housing Association are delighted to be celebrating 5 years of our successful Volunteer project which has delivered great outcomes in our communities with the support of our amazing volunteers.
“We are hopeful that given the positive impact the project has achieved that we can secure funding to further develop the project going forward. With the support of our volunteers we now regularly run over 20 activities each week for older people and provide over 350 hours of volunteering and more than 75 hours of befriending each month too.”
