Care Inspectorate rates Hjaltland’s ‘excellent’ sheltered housing support services
Hjaltland Housing Association’s Housing Support Services have been given a glowing report by the Care Inspectorate.
An inspection of the Association’s sheltered housing support services along with The Hub Project – an initiative jointly ran with Shetland Islands Council to provide transitional housing and support for young people leaving care was carried out on September 19 with the services given an ‘excellent’ rating.
Both services were audited in the quality of care and support and the quality of management and leadership.
The Care Inspectorate interviewed a number people who directly benefit from the services as well as staff members.
No recommendations have been made for improving the services.
The report stated: “The feedback we received about the service was very positive and highly complementary about quality of care, staff and management. Thank you cards were received by the service which confirmed how much people value the support provided.”
Hjaltland Housing Association’s head of housing, Phillip Morrison-Gale, said “I’m pleased to hear that service users were highly complementary of the quality of care and support offered. Their feedback, along with the ‘excellent’ rating given by the Care Inspectorate is testament to the commitment and dedication shown by our staff members who work hard to achieve good outcomes for service users.”
