Caroline Sinclair welcomed as new Stirling Council chief executive
Stirling Council leader Councillor Chris Kane has welcomed new chief executive Caroline Sinclair to the role.
Ms Sinclair officially started in the position on Monday (29 July). She was appointed to the role in early June following a competitive selection process, overseen by a cross-party panel of councillors.
Councillor Chris Kane, said: “We are delighted that Caroline accepted our offer to become Stirling Council’s new chief executive following a rigorous recruitment process.
“A number of high-calibre candidates applied for the role, but Caroline stood out for having the right experience, knowledge and qualities to excel in this important leadership position.
“Caroline has a strong track record in working with partners and communities to deliver high-quality public services. She has the skills and vision to lead us as we face the challenges ahead, transform our services and seize the exciting opportunities to make Stirling a better place for everyone.”
Ms Sinclair brings a wealth of experience in local government and the public sector spanning more than 20 years. She has spent the past six years at East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership, firstly as head of service before being appointed chief officer in January 2020.
Prior to this, she spent 15 years with Orkney Islands Council, working in a wide variety of social care service roles, including nearly three years as chief officer of Orkney Health and Care Partnership.
Caroline Sinclair said: “It’s really exciting to get started at Stirling Council and to start meeting our staff, elected members and key partners.
“I’m looking forward to getting out into all our communities to explore how we can work more closely together and deliver positive change for the people in the Stirling area, building on the great work before me.
“I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome I’ve had so far. I’m also grateful to Brian Roberts for providing such strong leadership as Interim Chief Executive over a two-month period which included a snap general election and a number of major events.”
