Cassiltoun celebrates tenth anniversary of Castlemilk Stables
Cassiltoun Housing Association’s subsidiary Cassiltoun Trust has celebrated the 10th anniversary since the multi award winning Castlemilk Stables opened.
Over 100 invited guests joined Board members, tenants and staff to the celebrations on August 4.
Anna Stuart MBE, chair, said: “Our local MSP James Dornan placed this motion in the Scottish Parliament which summarises our work perfectly.”
The motion read: “That the Parliament notes the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the Castlemilk Stables; considers that the stables has become a paragon of a community-led regeneration initiative, which houses business and third sector organisations that provide training, education and many forms of social engagement and social activities, breaking down social isolation and improving residents health and employment opportunities; congratulates the Cassiltoun Trust and its partners for their stewardship of the stables; notes the multiple awards that the last ten years has brought, and looks forward to the next ten years bringing many more achievements.”
Charlie Millar, chief executive officer at Cassiltoun Group, added: “Castlemilk Stables project has punched way above its weight in terms of its contribution to the social and economic improvements in Castlemilk. The 10th anniversary is a significant milestone, well worth celebrating.”
