Castle Rock Edinvar care and support subsidiary to relaunch outside Places for People Group
Castle Rock Edinvar Housing Association’s care and support subsidiary Places for People Scotland Care & Support is set to spin-out from the Places for People Group and relaunch as With You in 2018.
The move will allow the organisation to be more flexible in developing life-changing support services and to collaborate more extensively with other organisations.
The decision has been approved by the Places for People Group Board and will be realised by March 2018, following a period of transition.
The new organisation will be known as With You and will remain a Scottish registered charity. With You will specialise in providing support to older and young people, people with mental health issues and learning disabilities, and those living in temporary accommodation.
Castle Rock Edinvar, as a member of Places for People Group, will continue to deliver supported housing through collaborating with a wide range of providers, which will include With You. Existing tenancies will not be affected and there will be no detrimental impact on people who are currently receiving services from Places for People Scotland Care & Support.
Dr Cathy Garner, Places for People Group director and chair of Castle Rock Edinvar, said: “As a Group we remain firmly committed to developing and providing supported housing in Scotland and we believe that this new arrangement will enable wider and more extensive needs to be met. We will continue to collaborate with the re-shaped organisation which will rebrand as With You and nothing will change for our existing tenants.
“The exceptional team at Places for People Scotland Care & Support is recognised in the sector for driving innovation in service provision and consistently achieving excellent reports from the Care Inspectorate. This new arrangement will provide them with a greater opportunity to build on these strengths and benefit from broader collaborative partnerships to offer top value to people requiring support.
“Similarly, through our Living+ model, Places for People provides support to over 6,500 people with assisted living needs in over 50 schemes across the UK and we will look to grow that model in Scotland to meet ever increasing needs.”
