Cernach finance officer Karen Dyson to retire
Cernach Housing Association is to bid farewell to finance officer Karen Dyson, who is retiring after a remarkable 30 years of service.
Karen joined Cernach on 24 October 1994, as the fifth member of the team. Over the years, she has witnessed Cernach’s growth through stock transfer, new builds and is now part of a staff team of 19.
After announcing her retirement in the summer, Karen said: “Thirty years is a good time to stop after all.”
Caroline Jardine, director at Cernach, said: “Karen’s service and dedication is impressive. I have been very fortunate to work alongside her. She has truly served the Drumchapel community; her knowledge is outstanding. It’s a big loss to the Association after decades of dedicated work.”
Susan McDonald, who has been on the Management Committee since 1991 and is currently the chair of the Association, said: “We’ve been lucky to have Karen all these years, she’s gone above and beyond. She’s not only an excellent staff member but a lovely person to be around. I want to thank her for her obliging nature and her service to the Management Committee.”
Carylanne McLellan, assistant maintenance officer, who has worked alongside Karen for 17 years, added: “She has been an excellent colleague and an even better friend. She’s our go-to person and we all refer to her as the Oracle! We will all miss her greatly.”
All the staff and committee wish Karen a healthy and happy retirement!
