Charity Spotlight: Construction reuse hub seeking materials donations

A Stirling-based charity has launched a new circular construction hub to sell excess and reclaimed construction materials at affordable prices to the community.
The GoodBuilding project, run by Good Green Futures, seeks to help reduce waste and offers a range of flexible employment opportunities for the Forth Valley community.
Financially supported by the University of Stirling, the hub is based at 4 Borrowmeadow Road (FK7 7UW), operating from a 14,000 sq. ft warehouse.
The hub is seeking donations of excess, damaged, or out-of-date stock/materials that may be taking up space or costing companies money to dispose of. These can be dropped off free of charge at the hub, or they can be collected, again free of charge, or for a small fee (£25 within 15 miles) depending on the quantity involved.
The kind of items ideally looked for are:
- Building materials (timber, insulation, tiles, etc.)
- Kitchen and bathroom fixtures (sinks, taps, baths, etc.)
- Plumbing, heating, and electrical items
- Fixings and ironmongery
In addition to providing a service which is environmentally responsible, the hub provides valuable employment and training opportunities, with a workshop to support these activities. It also has a space for independent artisans and “Makers” to create value-added products.
