CIH Futures organised the Housing Cup to support CIH president Alison Inman’s chosen charity.

Midlands-based WM Housing scooped the inaugural trophy in the grand final which took place in Birmingham yesterday following a number of regional heats across the UK In May and June. They beat a team made up of staff from Aster and Orbit in the final.

Cheryl Tracy, from CIH Futures, said: “The Housing Cup has been fantastic event and has surpassed all of our expectations.

“Housing organisations embraced the tournament with open arms and we are absolutely delighted that we’ve raised such a great total for such a worthy cause.

“I want to thank everyone who has been involved in the first ever Housing Cup – from all of the teams who were involved, to our sponsors and all of the people who helped pull the tournament together.”

Alison Inman, CIH president, who presented the Housing Cup to winners WM Housing on the day, said: “The Housing Cup has been an absolutely brilliant event and I’m amazed by the total that has been raised.

“CIH Futures deserve an enormous amount of credit – they are quite simply brilliant and have put in a huge amount of work. The result is a fantastic event which has raised money which will help victims of domestic abuse.

“I would like to thank every single team and every person involved in what has been a massive success and something which will make a real difference.”

Five teams contested the grand final – WM Housing, South Liverpool Homes, the Aster and Orbit team, Notting Hill Genesis and Coastal Housing.

Teams involved in the competition raised funds which went towards the total.

The money raised during the Housing Cup will be split across Women’s Aid in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
