City Building gives back with bumper gift drive this Christmas
Glasgow-based construction firm City Building has delighted hundreds of local young people by donating 197 Christmas gifts to Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas gift drive in aid of Possilpark’s social work service.
The organisation’s support will ensure that vulnerable young people across the area receive a Christmas gift this year.
Festive cheer is plentiful at the construction firm, with donations coming from across the business including the firm’s thriving apprenticeship base and the RSBi factory that specialises in supported disability employment.
The decision to donate to Possilpark’s social work service was made by tradespeople at City Building after they identified that the current cost of living crisis would negatively impact local service provisions and potentially leave local children without a special gift this Christmas.
Alan Burns, executive director at City Building, said: “Every child deserves to wake up to a special gift on Christmas day, regardless of their situation.
“I am so proud of all the City Building staff who decided to get involved and give back this festive period. Community is a top concern of City Building as we look to enrich and sustain the areas in which we work and live.
“From all of us at City Building, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We look forward to continuing our mission of building a sustainable future in 2023.”
