The council revealed that the rent rise of 3.1% for 2022/23 will also apply to garages.

Clackmannanshire Council said that transforming the local economy and tackling poverty and inequality are at the heart of its transformation programme, providing a clear focus for council investment and delivery.

The housing budget has a key role in meeting these aspirations, particularly through the affordable housing supply programme, which has the ability to directly influence economic growth with the regeneration of Clackmannanshire communities.

Regeneration in Alloa Town Centre is well underway with the construction of 60 new flats for intergenerational living on the former Alloa Co-op site at Primrose Street, which is expected to be complete in the autumn.

The council is currently taking forward a new build development in Clackmannan, which is likely to see eight bungalows built on the former Lochies Garage site, due for site start in later this year In addition, the former Glentana Mill site in Alva is being considered as the next site for the council’s aspirations around sustainable ageing developments, following on from Primrose Street.

Investment in existing tenants homes in the short to medium term continue to be external building fabric such as roof replacement with external wall upgrade, central heating upgrade, and window replacements.
