Claymore Homes obtains approval to build final 61 homes at Peterhead site
Claymore Homes has obtained permission to build the last 61 houses at its Greenacres development in Peterhead.
The homes, located on a site off Kinmundy Road, will be the fifth and final phase of Wester Clerkhill estate.
Aberdeenshire Council approved the Greenacres masterplan for 210 homes in 2016. The other homes in the development is at an “advanced” stage.
The firm’s latest proposal added six extra homes to the previously granted masterplan.
The development will comprise a combination of detached and semi-detached homes ranging from three to five bedrooms, The Press and Journal reports.
New paths will be formed with open spaces and playground equipment for children while access will be granted from existing Wellington Drive and Friarshill Crescent.
Aberdeenshire Council planners recommended the proposal go ahead, saying it would help Claymore Homes “deliver a better balance of detached, semi-detached and single storey houses of varying sizes”.
They stated: “The proposed houses are of a similar design to those approved elsewhere within the estate, therefore providing continuity and sense of place.”
The application went before the Buchan area committee on Tuesday last week where councillors unanimously agreed to approve the plan.
