Cloch Housing Association to hold Superhero Neighbour Awards
Cloch Housing Association is appealing for nominations for its first annual Superhero Neighbour Awards which recognise the unsung champions making a difference in the community.
The awards pay tribute to Cloch residents who have made a significant difference to the lives of their neighbours or the local community.
The categories for this year’s event are the Superhero Neighbour Award and the Young Rising Superstar, for anyone aged 16 and under who makes a difference in their community. The Awards are being launched at the Association’s Super Summer Gala which takes place on Thursday 13th August 2015 2:00pm-6:30pm at Lady Octavia Sports Centre.
Andy Thomson, housing services manager at Cloch Housing, said: “The Superhero Neighbour Awards are our way of honouring some of the fantastic work that ordinary people in our area are doing to make Inverclyde such a great place to live and work.
“Every year we are humbled by the stories that we hear and the extraordinary lengths that people will go to help others and it is people like this that make our communities special. So we decided that we should recognise good deeds by our customers and their families rather than focusing on the negative issues of anti-social behaviour.
“We are looking for ordinary people who work tirelessly in our neighbourhoods for the benefit of others, so if you know someone who fits the bill then I’d urge you to nominate them.”
Nominations are open to any Cloch Housing customer including tenants, sharing owners or homeowners living in a Cloch Housing neighbourhood.
A specialist panel will judge the nominations selecting finalists in each category, which will then be passed to our Management Committee to vote on the winners.
Nominations close on Friday 14th November 2015 at 4:00pm and the finalists will be announced in early December.
