Clyde Valley Housing Association partners with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Clyde Valley Housing Association (CVHA) is thrilled to announce the launch of a new partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, bringing the joy of reading to children in the rural community of Douglas.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is an acclaimed book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, regardless of their family’s income. Established in 1995, the program began by distributing books to children in Sevier County, Tennessee, where Dolly grew up.
Due to its overwhelming success, the initiative expanded nationally in 2000, and by 2003, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library had mailed one million books. Today, it continues to deliver millions of books to children worldwide, fostering a love of reading and learning from an early age.
In Douglas, this program is now available to all children from birth to age five. Importantly, families do not need to be CVHA customers to take advantage of this opportunity.
Frances Stewart, community connector at Clyde Valley Housing Association, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Douglas. This program will make a significant difference in the lives of our young children, encouraging early literacy and a lifelong love of reading. It’s a fantastic resource for families, and we are proud to support this initiative in our community.”
