Collective Architecture to bring forward 380-home Elgin project
Collective Architecture has been appointed to develop final proposals for a housing development in Elgin.
The Bilbohall masterplan, which was approved by Moray Council in November 2018, outlines plans for 382 new homes for the south of the town, taking shape near Elgin High School.
The project was originally conceived more than a decade ago as part of the aborted Western Link Road project.
However, the vision for homes on the barren site between Elgin High School and Wards Road has been retained to help keep up with demand for houses in the town.
Collective Architecture has been named as the winning tender for a £479,000 from five bids to prepare and submit detailed planning applications on behalf of the Bilbohall Consortium, which is a partnership of Moray Council, Scotia Homes and Grampian Housing Association.
The masterplan includes commitments to make the area less attractive for drivers by including speed bumps, narrower streets and raised junctions.
