Community consultation launched for Dalmarnock’s 165-home residential development project
A community consultation has been launched regarding the development of a new residential project slated for French Street/Carstairs Street, located in the south Dalmarnock area of Glasgow.
The project, spearheaded by Clyde Gateway and led by Stewart Stevenson Architects, aims to rejuvenate a derelict brownfield site that has remained unproductive for 40 years. Contractor CCG has taken the initiative to present its preliminary proposals, paving the way for the transformation of the land into a thriving neighbourhood.
The development plan envisions a diverse mix of 165 terraced houses and apartments, primarily allocated for social rent by Thenue. A portion of these properties will also be made available for private sale. The detailed design and planning are underway, with a full planning application due for submission in autumn 2023.
A crucial part of the consultation process, an in-person event at Bridgeton Library, will be held on 6th July from 14:00 to 19:00. This session forms part of the required pre-application consultations before submitting a formal application to Glasgow City Council. Members of the public are invited to provide feedback, with the project team set to share insights gathered during this pre-application phase.
