Consultation begins into draft domestic abuse policy at Blairtummock
Blairtummock Housing Association has launched a consultation into its proposed domestic abuse policy as it announced its support for the Chartered Institute of Housing’s Make a Stand campaign.
By signing the pledge, Blairtummock has become part of a collective effort working to put the following four commitments in place:
- Put in place and embed a policy to support residents who are affected by domestic abuse
- Make information about national and local domestic abuse support services available on your website and in other appropriate places so that they are easily accessible for residents and staff
- Put in place an HR policy, or amend an existing policy, to support members of staff who may be experiencing domestic abuse.
- Appoint a champion at a senior level in your organisation to own the activity you are doing to support people experiencing domestic abuse.
The Association is now seeking tenants’ views on the new policy it plans to introduce, a draft copy of which is available here.
Blairtummock said: “We are committed to taking action to support people experiencing domestic abuse. It is crucial that we have a policy in place detailing how we will support our customers who are experiencing domestic abuse.”
The consultation closes on July 23.
