Consultation meeting planned for Fife social homes
Local people will attend a public consultation event next week as Fife Council considers plans to create new homes for social rent in Leven.
The local authority is planning to purchase completed units from a private developer and then make them available for social rent. Staff from Fife Council’s Affordable Housing Team will attend the meeting to answer questions about the scheme.
The development proposal is for 14 new build homes at a vacant site on North Street, Leven, including a mix of two two-bed cottage flats, four one-bed cottage flats, six two-bedroom house and two three-bedroom houses.
Development plans will also be made available online from the date of the consultation – Monday 20 April – for those who cannot attend but still want to share their thoughts by email or telephone.
The development is the second in Levenmouth to be proposed in recent weeks, following a developer’s decision to lodge a planning application for 101 new affordable homes in nearby Methil.
