Eleven 3-bedroom houses; two 2-bedroomed houses, four 2-bedroom flats and a wheelchair accessible 2-bedroom bungalow will be built at Russell Walk by Hart Builders as part of the council’s new affordable housing programme.

Council leader Cllr Willie Innes said: “Expanding the provision of affordable housing across East Lothian is a priority for the council. We work with a range of partners, including private house developers, to secure sites for building. I am particularly pleased that this contract was won by a local contractor ensuring continued employment stability for the area.”

Preliminary works are already underway with construction expected to start on site in early 2017.
