Cordale delight at double award shortlisting
Cordale Housing Association are delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists for both an industry award and a business award.
Earlier this month, Cordale were announced as a finalist for the Best Performing Business (under 25 employees) category in the West Dunbartonshire Working4Business Awards 2017 and last week Cordale were revealed to be one of three short listed finalists for the prestigious title of Housing Association of the Year (under 3,000 houses) for the 2017 Scottish Home Awards.
The Working4Business Awards are held on 31 May and the Scottish Home Awards will take place on 15 June.
Margaret McCallion, chairperson of Cordale Housing Association, said: “The Committee and Staff of Cordale Housing Association are delighted that what we have achieved over the last few years has been recognised with our shortlisting for these two awards.
“Cordale has been on a remarkable journey of change and progress and we are very proud of what we have accomplished. We can clearly demonstrate we are making a difference, delivering broader and better services to our tenants and service users.
“We’ve kept rent increases below the national average; increased investment in staff, improved services and modernised homes; and in partnership with Caledonia Housing Association provided 80 new and refurbished homes for affordable rent in Renton and Alexandria.
“We are also about to start building a new office that will replace derelict shops and thereby transform the physical appearance of the heart of our community. Meanwhile we have plans to build new homes in Dalquhurn, a former industrial site in Renton.
“Being finalists for these awards is fabulous recognition for the hard work and dedication of the Cordale team in delivering this transformation.”
