Councillors approve plans for 43 new Dundee homes
Dundee City Council has approved plans by InverTay Homes to build 43 properties on an area of empty land in Whitfield.
Featuring eight two-bedroom, 30 three-bedroom and five four-bedroom homes, the development will extend along Summerfield Terrace as far as Summerfield Avenue.
It’s the latest phase of the ongoing regeneration of the area, which began in 2006 and could see up to 1,000 new houses built.
Fraser Middleton of ARKTX, the architects for the project, said it was an “exciting development” for the area.
He told the Evening Telegraph: “This is the second phase of property development by InverTay in Whitfield.
“The first phase comprised of 32 properties and this new phase is based on the success of that.
“Affordable housing will also be provided.”
Regeneration work already completed in Whitfield includes Ballumbie Primary School, which opened in 2011, and community centre The Crescent which was completed in 2014.
