Craigowl Communities helps 17 unemployed Dundonians get vital job skills
Unemployed people completed a job skills course in Dundee yesterday that will help to get them back into employment.
The Care Course, delivered by Dundee-based charity Craigowl Communities, aims to give the 17 participants all the skills they need to get into a successful career in the care industry.
As part of the 4 week course, attendees achieved a Moving & Handling Certificate from F1 Training and completed two days job shadowing with some of the city’s top care providers, including Gowrie Care and Balhousie Group.
Carol Carr, Craigowl care course facilitator, said: “They have been a great group to work with.
“Everyone who has completed the course is now ready to get back into employment and I am very proud of how hard they have worked in achieving their course certificates.
“We wish them all the best in their new careers in care.”
Everyone who has completed the Care Course will receive guaranteed interviews with some Dundee’s best care employers including Investors In People Gold accredited Gowrie Care, part of the Hillcrest Group of Companies.
