Cunninghame event introduces new tenant engagement officer

Cunninghame Housing Association held a ‘Meet and Greet’ event to introduce tenants and residents associations to its new tenant engagement officer Sean Lundy.

The event was attended by representatives from Largs, Ardrossan, Longpark, and Annan, with upcoming meetings scheduled with Dalry & Vineburgh in the near future.

New CEO Jacqueline Cameron opened the event by emphasising the importance of tenant engagement and collaboration.

New executive director of finance and corporate services John McIntyre then gave an overview of the budget setting process and detailed the proposed rent increase of 5.5%, which translates to an average weekly increase of £4.26.

The phasing of the rent and service charge review agreed in 2019 continues to ensure a fair transition, so the maximum increase for tenants will be £5.50 per week. Tenants will receive formal notification of their new rent charges at least four weeks in advance of any changes, which will take effect from 1 April 2025.

Sean Lundy introduced the 2024-2029 Tenant Participation Strategy, outlining the three key priorities:

  • Information: ensuring tenants and service users are well-informed about developments and policies affecting them.
  • Participation: providing a variety of opportunities for tenants to voice their opinions and actively participate in shaping services.
  • Innovation: utilising tenant feedback to drive service improvements and enhance overall tenant experience.

Following the presentations, tenants enjoyed lunch and Sean took the opportunity to engage with them personally to discuss his vision for tenant participation, estate walkabouts and future meetings. This allowed tenants to share their concerns and aspirations with Sean, showcasing the strategic commitment to open communication and continuous improvement.
