Cunninghame Housing Association awards £1,000 to Ardrossan Community Development Trust
On Tuesday 26th April 2022 both John Kelly, chairperson of Cunninghame Housing Association (CHA) and Frank Sweeney, group chief executive of CHA presented a cheque for £1,000 to Christine Powell, company secretary and vice chair of Ardrossan Community Development Trust (ACDT).
ACDT was formed in 2019 following a range of significant community consultations within the town via the Our Place Programme and the 3 Towns Charrette, both of which identified many locally agreed development opportunities and priorities.
The Trust was formed to engage in activities that benefit and support the community of Ardrossan, increase opportunities, improve the physical environment of the town and revive a sense of pride in the town.
The funding provided by Cunninghame Housing Association is to assist ACDT in keeping good governance, which is essential in the running of the Trust. The funding will ensure that the right staff are in place to keep everything in order to help deliver the planned major projects for the Ardrossan Community.
The funding for the ADCT came from the Associations ‘Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund’ which operates throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) until the allocated funding is exhausted.
John Kelly, chairperson, CHA, said: “The Association are delighted to support ACDT in helping them move forward and eventually deliver exciting projects which will benefit everyone of Ardrossan and beyond.”
