3TFM are a community radio station based in Ardrossan and broadcast to the 3 Towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston on 103.1FM. They also broadcast online at 3TFM. The station was established in 2004 by a multiparty partnership including NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Paisley University, North Ayrshire Council and the 3Towns Healthy Living Company with a focus on improving health across the 3Towns area and officially started broadcasting on 19th April 2008.

With a primary focus of promoting health, 3TFM takes volunteers from the three towns and surrounding areas who are interested in different aspects of broadcasting, to then provide them with training in live presentation, radio production, administration and other key skills in this industry.

The funding provided by Cunninghame Housing Association will support 3TFM with their ongoing financial costs to allow the station to be broadcast. Purchase of the annual PPL (Phonographic Performance Licence)/PRS licences are essential to enable the station to play and perform different types of music and this is just one amongst other costs to keep the radio station live.

Having broadcast since 2008, 3TFM proves to be an asset to the 3Towns community and the volunteers who help broadcast and promote healthy living, whilst allowing organisations such as cancer support groups, youth projects and Credit Unions promote their work.

The funding for 3TFM came from the Association’s ‘Making Our Communities a Better Place Fund’ which operates throughout the year (1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022) until the allocated funding is exhausted.
