Cunninghame Housing Association supports Barnardo’s Christmas Appeal
Hundreds of disadvantaged children will wake up to presents at Christmas thanks to a benevolent donation from the Board of Management and staff of Cunninghame Housing Association.
More than £700 worth of toys and gifts were presented to Lesley McNee from Barnardo’s North Ayrshire Families Services to help with its annual Christmas Appeal.
Lesley McNee, Katie Brown, Diane Morgan and Amy Kelly from Barnardo’s visited Cunninghame Housing Association last week to thank all those involved and to receive the toys and gifts from the Association’s chairperson, Janet Strang with director of corporate services, Allison McColl and staff members from the Association’s Health and Wellbeing Staff Group who led the Gift Appeal.
Allison McColl said: “The Association’s Health & Wellbeing Staff Group nominated the Appeal for funding by the Board of Management and staff in early November 2016 and have done a tremendous job in gathering a wide range of gifts together in a short period of time for handover today. Over the last four years the Association’s Health & Wellbeing Staff Group has raised over £11,000 of money for deserving causes such as this.”
Lesley McNee of Barnardo’s added: “We would like to thank the Association on behalf of the families for the kind gifts and toys. We greatly appreciate the generosity of the Board of Management and staff in making this marvelous contribution to our 2016 Christmas Gift Appeal.”
Janet Strang, CHA’s chair, said: “The voluntary Board of Management and its staff are delighted to have been able to donate these wonderful gifts to this appeal.”
