Dandara seeks to build Aberdeen nursing home in partnership with Abbeyfield
Plans to build an 81-bedroom nursing home in partnership with Abbeyfield Scotland in Aberdeen have been put out for consultation.
Developer Dandara has proposed building 14 homes and a new nursing home instead of 50 houses for which they have already received planning permission.
The home would be located on the Pinewood and Hazledene estate in the Hazlehead area of the city.
The new facility would provide round-the-clock care and include a gym, resident lounges, a bar, a library and more.
A spokesman for developers Dandara told the Press and Journal: “Dandara is taking these proposals forward on behalf of Woodlands Care Home LLP.
“The plan has been developed in response to a strong local market demand for high-quality later life facilities.
“At present, it envisions an 81-bedroom premium nursing home which will provide dedicated, round-the-clock nursing care
“The property would provide for another generation of residents at Hazelwood, which already provides homes for young families seeking to move to new, higher-specification homes – down-sizers who don’t want to compromise on quality while reducing the size of their property, and elderly residents who want to retain their independence while having access to assisted-living, through our partnership with Abbeyfield Scotland.
“In common with Dandara’s residential properties throughout Aberdeen, and the UK, the development would be constructed to the highest standards, and it is hoped the property would be operational in late summer 2018.”
