David Wilson Homes seeks sub-contractors for new 342-home development in St Andrews
David Wilson Homes, part of Barratt Developments, is seeking sub-contractors from across Fife to help deliver a new 342-home development in Craigtoun, St Andrews.
Work will soon commence at the David Wilson Homes site, which sits close to Younger Gardens in the south-east of the Fife town.
The new community will comprise up to 240 private and 103 affordable homes, with house types including apartments, bungalows and two-storey houses.
The house builder will be hosting a “Meet the Developer” event next week to help it grow its pool of craftsmen and is specifically looking to expand its supply chain across a variety of trades, including plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators, to ensure that it has the necessary skilled labour in place to complete the project.
The event will involve a presentation from the developer and a discussion of the plans for the St Andrews project. Interested parties are asked to register their attendance in advance of the event, which takes place on Monday 8th August at 9am, at the Apex City Quay Hotel, West Victoria Dock Road, Dundee, DD1 3JP
Lynn Gordon, commercial director at Barratt Developments Scotland, said: “We’re really pleased to have finalised our purchase of the land at Craigtoun in St Andrews and are now looking to supplement our existing sub-contractor base to help us deliver this high-quality housing development.
“Those who believe they have the relevant skills and experience may have worked with us previously or be new to Barratt Developments. Alternatively, they could currently be working in the commercial sector and considering expanding into house building. The trades we’re looking for include - but are not limited to electricians, plumbers, painters and decorators, joiners, roofers, scaffolders, bricklayers, landscapers and mastic sealant contractors.
“Sub-contractors are a vital part of our business and, at Barratt Developments, we are looking to create genuine and lasting partnerships. We ask any interested contractors to register and attend the event to find out more about working with Barratt and our future plans.”
Attendees to the Meet the Developer Event are invited to arrive at 9am for a breakfast roll and coffee ahead of a 9.30am start, with presentations running for no longer than 45 minutes.
