Deal secured to deliver new affordable homes in Ratho Station and Edinburgh
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has concluded a contract with Home Group Scotland to deliver 71 affordable homes for social rent, which will form part of its developments of new homes at West Craigs, Maybury and Lauder Grove, Ratho Station.
A range of affordable two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom terraced homes will be built in both locations with 47 properties planned for Maybury and 24 properties in the pipeline for Ratho Station. The properties are expected to be completed during next year at Lauder Grove and into 2025 at West Craigs.
Phil Cooper, land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “This latest agreement with Home Group Scotland builds on our successful partnership over the last three years to provide 124 affordable homes at our developments in East Calder and Winchburgh.
“As one of the largest housebuilders in the UK, we are committed to building more than homes and making sure that we add social, economic and environmental value to the wider communities that we operate in. The delivery of these latest affordable homes in both Ratho Station and Edinburgh are part of that commitment being delivered locally.
“Construction work of these properties is already well underway at both developments, and we expect to hand over the first of our completed properties to Home Group Scotland from early next year.”
Audrey Simpson, director of Home Group Scotland, said: “We’re really proud to be working with our partners to bring 71 new affordable homes to Ratho Station and Maybury, Edinburgh. This is an opportunity for people in both of these locations to find a place to call home and help us support a strong local community.
“One of Home Group’s core commitments is to deliver the right homes in the right places and for Ratho Station and Maybury, Edinburgh we believe we are achieving that.”
