Detailed plans lodged for 190 new homes in Bathgate
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has detailed plans to West Lothian Council for the provision of 190 new homes at Sibbalds Wynd, located off Sibbalds Brae in Bathgate.
The proposals for the development include the provision of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, new play areas as well as new bus stops on Sibbalds Brae, ten acres of open space, footpath and cycle links to Bathgate networks together with the associated infrastructure required for a development of this scale.
The land at Sibbalds Brae was granted Planning Permission in Principle (PPiP) in February 2020, and Taylor Wimpey’s application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition (AMSC) will build on the outline design framework, integrating the proposed new development with the existing housing near the boundary of the development.
The new homes will include proposals for Electric Vehicle Charging Points and Solar PV panels to help reduce the carbon footprint of the development.
A significant area of open space will be retained and improved for the use of residents and a sustainable urban drainage system will be designed to manage surface water. A green corridor will also be introduced to the south of the proposed development, providing a wildlife link to Little Boghead Nature Park.
Pauline Mills, land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Taylor Wimpey can confirm that an application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition has been submitted for our land off Sibbalds Brae in Bathgate.
“As well as an impressive range of new homes, our development would provide a range of economic benefits for the local Bathgate area which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses from those who choose to live in one of the new homes this development aims to deliver.”
