Deveron Homes lines up £5m to fund new developments
A North East property firm has unveiled its latest housing development in Moray and announced plans for further expansion in Aberdeenshire and Ross-shire.
Huntly-based Deveron Homes currently has 54 new homes under construction in Keith and a further 37 units under way at a hilltop site at Burntisland. Plans are also in the pipeline for the company to expand into other new locations as additional sites come on-stream.
The news follows successful Deveron Homes’ developments across the north in locations such as Alness, Aberdeen, Huntly and Inverness where the company restored and adapted a Victorian mansion to create luxury apartments. Improving the scope of affordable housing is high on the agenda for the Aberdeenshire company which is in the process of exploring a range of new construction methods which may be applicable to this market.
Managing director Alan Murray, who heads the 15-strong team at Deveron Homes, explained: “We forecast that we will build a further 150 homes in the next three to four years. Although our company may be small by comparison, our ambitious business plan is based on large company principles.”
Deveron Homes’ Strathisla Park development in Keith features two, three and four bedroom properties and will be completed in two phases. It also includes 26 starter homes and around 50 per cent of the properties on the site have already been pre-booked.
