DGHP staff to sleep out and raise awareness of homelessness
Staff from Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP) will join more than 12,000 people in December as part of Social Bite’s ‘Sleep in the Park’.
Ten members of DGHP will sleep out for the night in Glasgow on December 8.
Anne Davies, one of the DGHP team taking part, said: “DGHP has kindly supported us in donating the minimum amount needed to enter however we want to raise as much as we can as we are all passionate about playing our part in tackling homelessness in Scotland.”
The team are currently looking for donations and prizes towards a raffle they are holding to raise more funds for the event.
Evie Copland, another member of the team, added: “Between us, we work in different housing roles across Dumfries and Galloway and we believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. We have admired the great work of Social Bite from afar for a number of years and we are really looking forward to being part of the event which recognises the issue of homelessness.”
