Dunbeg ‘masterplan’ of 600 affordable homes revealed by Link
Link Group has submitted plans to Argyll and Bute Council to transform the Dunbeg Corridor area with a development of 600 new homes.
The ‘Dunbeg Development Corridor Masterplan’ proposes a sensitive expansion of the existing communities of Dunbeg and Ganavan.
This community based series of new neighbourhoods will seek to be the catalyst for shops, cafes and community uses as well as an identified area for expanded commercial activity.
The masterplan seeks to transform the Dunbeg Corridor area into a family orientated, vibrant and sustainable rural place where people will choose to live, work and visit and which is at one with its greatest assets of stunning landscape and heritage.
Link, in partnership with its subsidiary West Highland Housing Association, has already completed the first 75 affordable homes on the site, including 50 intermediate rent-to-buy properties, and 25 social rent homes.
Colin Culross, director of development and asset management, said: “Link looks forward to delivering this masterplan, and working in partnership with Argyll & Bute Council and the Scottish Government to significantly improve the economic prospects and housing choices for the local community.”
A public consultation event was held on 12 January 2017 to discuss the plan.
