Dundee council committee unanimously agrees to 3% rent rise
Councillors in Dundee have approved a 3% rise in council housing rents to assist the ongoing regeneration of the city’s housing estates.
The rent increase, which will amount to an average of an extra £2.13 per week, was unanimously agreed at a meeting of the local authority’s policy and resources committee.
The rise is expected to generate an extra £1,379,000, which will go towards insulating homes to help tackle fuel poverty amongst other improvements.
Council leader John Alexander said the consultation had been “robust” and that the local authority welcomed all opportunities for feedback.
