Dundee councillors to revisit Western Gateway plan
Councillors in Dundee will have a second opportunity to vote on a planning application for development of 365 new homes at the western edge of the city.
Springfield Properties Plc’s latest application will be considered by Dundee City Council’s development management committee next Monday. A previous application for 230 homes in the new village, known as Dykes of Gray, has already been approved.
The developer submitted two applications for the proposed village last year, but one of the applications was unexpectedly voted down after one councillor left the chambers and other entered between the votes on the first and second applications.
After that planning meeting in December, Springfield Properties chairman Sandy Adam told The Courier: “We will just have to revisit the first application because last night was a bit of an anomaly.”
Council officers have recommended the new application for approval, even though it does not fully comply with the Dundee Local Development Plan.
