With a long-standing and successful working relationship with Dundee City Council, DFTA helps to scrutinise housing services, encourage tenant participation, influence priorities and areas of focus, and feedback through consultations, 

The council recognises DFTA as the largest representative body for tenants’ groups in the city.

The development plan lays the foundations for the Federation’s continued work from 2019 to 2021 and recognises the opportunities and challenges in communities across the city.

The council provides grant funding and support to the DFTA to help it to be an effective voice for tenants and ensure the organisations work together to deliver the Tenant Participation Strategy.

Councillor Anne Rendall, neighbourhood service committee convener, said: “It’s great to see such an ambitious DFTA Development Plan in place ensuring that together the tenant representatives and the council keep tenants’ interests at the heart of all that we do.

“DFTA already provide an invaluable contribution by feeding back their first-hand experience to the council as housing tenants. This is important in informing and influencing the services that we provide to all council tenants.”
