Easter football camp scores with River Clyde Homes youngsters
The youngsters, who were all children of the Association’s customers, were treated to a week of football fun delivered by fully qualified SFA Morton Community coaches.
The fully booked event, supported by Greenock Morton Community Trust and Cash for Kids, also included a surprise visit from Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, where the children had a chance to show off their skills to Superscoreboard pundits Hugh Keevins and Gordon Duncan, who were impressed by the young footballers of the future.
Heather McLaughlin, tenancy sustainment & support manager at River Clyde Homes, said the Inverclyde-based Association is committed to working with communities.
She added: “We’re delighted to have worked with Morton Community Trust to give our young customers the chance to join the camps. This has been a great opportunity for the children to keep busy over the Easter holidays where they have met new friends and developed their skills. We’d like to thank Cash for Kids for helping us to fund this event and look forward to bringing more camps in the future.”
Debbie Fraser, regional charity manager of Clyde Cash for Kids, who awarded the Association a Radio Clyde Cash for Kids Easter Holiday Grant of £1000, said: “We are delighted to support this fantastic venture which ensures young people have the opportunity to access activities and support over the school holiday.”
