Edinburgh charity extends trusted tradespeople information services
A new resource has been launched in Edinburgh to enable not only the elderly, but everyone in the capital, to find trusted tradespeople.
Care and Repair Edinburgh has launched a website to link up reputable tradespeople with the wider Edinburgh public. The charity has been recommending reliable tradespeople to Edinburgh’s over 60’s for years, but the service has now become available for everyone to access.
The Care and Repair Edinburgh reputable trades database covers many services including plumbing, electrical, joinery, painting and decorating and cleaning.
Louise Love, interim CEO of Care and Repair Edinburgh, said: “In our experience, many older people in Edinburgh can be apprehensive about calling tradespersons. For years, we’ve been able to put them in touch with our approved contractors who subscribe to our strict code of conduct regarding quality of work and transparency of cost. In partnership with Referenceline, we have now enabled this to be made available to the public via our website: www.referenceline.com/careandrepair/edinburgh.
“What’s even better is that the reviews on the site can be trusted because they are completed by hand by those who have used the services and independently published by the site, as opposed to the contractors. So the public can be sure that these are genuine and not simply posted by the contractors themselves or by disgruntled competitors trying to tarnish an otherwise good reputation.”
Care and Repair Edinburgh is also keen to hear from contractors who are interested in gaining accreditation with the charity and being included on the list.
