Eildon flies the green flag with new electric vehicles fleet
Eildon Housing Association has launched a brand-new fleet of electric vehicles.
The Nissan LEAF car and Nissan E-NV200 are the latest additions to Eildon’s fleet in the Association’s bid to promote greater energy efficiency and carbon reductions.
John Duncan, director of property assets at Eildon, said: “Eildon is committed to ensuring we comply with the legislative requirements set for national targets, but we want to go beyond that, and positively promote ‘best practice’ as a responsible and forward-looking organisation. Innovative new methods like this are key to what we are aiming to achieve, and this new electric fleet demonstrates our commitment.”
The new vehicles have been delivered in partnership with Scottish Borders Council on a three-year lease. They produce zero emissions, helping local air quality. Improvements in battery technology, meaning they can travel up to 187 miles on a single charge which makes them practical and efficient for a long-range of travel.
Eildon now has charging points based at the Weaving Shed office in Selkirk which are live on ‘Charge Place Scotland’. These charging points are open to anyone looking to charge their electric vehicle 24 hours a day. For an annual fee of £20 with Charge Place Scotland, you can charge your electric vehicle for free.
