Eildon gets green light for further 69 homes in Galashiels
Eildon Housing has been granted planning permission to continue its partnership with Buckholm Ltd to deliver a further 69 homes at High Buckholm corner in Galashiels.
The first phase of the development consists of eleven family homes and will be completed in November 2021, with the second phase commencing later in 2021.
To be delivered in collaboration with AMP Architects and Will Rudd Davidson Engineers, the entire site will be completed by Summer 2023.
All 80 homes are being built by the Peebles-based contractor Brash Construction.
Eildon said the affordable homes are being built to high standards and will benefit from air source heat pumps which is part of a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
A spokesperson added: “The 80 new homes at High Buckholm form a key part of Eildon’s development programme to deliver a record-breaking expansion of housing and care services for our communities in the Scottish Borders. This is all part of our strategy to invest in excess of £120 million in the Borders economy bringing much needed jobs, regeneration and 750 affordable new homes.”
