Eildon Group set for record growth after marking 44th year
The Eildon Group held its 44th Annual General Meeting last week to update its members on its activities and progress against record breaking growth targets.
Chairman Trevor Burrows briefed the attendees of the work of the largest provider of new homes in the Borders. The Eildon new build programme is generating hundreds of new homes to meet housing need across the Borders communities and is also levering in millions of pounds of investment to the local economy, supporting hundreds of high skilled jobs.
Eildon is planning to build more than 750 new homes across the Borders region over the next five years.
Mr Burrows also highlighted other notable achievements over the last 12 months, including the successful delivery of a large modernisation programme ahead of time and budget, as well as a range of other business improvement measures under the umbrella of the organisations ‘Working Smarter’ programme. The AGM attendees were also informed of the launch of a new ambitious Customer Engagement Strategy, giving Eildon customers across the length and breadth of the Borders a greater range of options to help shape the work of the Association.
The AGM confirmed the membership of the Eildon Board for the year ahead and Mr Burrows was re-appointed to act as chairman for a further year.
The Association also took time to pay tribute to two long-serving Board members who had stood down from their voluntary positions. Mrs Myra Turnbull retired from the Board earlier this year after serving for 24 years. Caroline Lang retired from the Board at the AGM, after completing an astonishing 33 years on the Eildon Board.
Mr Burrows and those in attendance warmly thanked both Myra and Caroline for their remarkable contribution and public service.
