Elderpark plans to demolish community centre and warehouse for new flats
A planning application has been submitted for 45 apartments across two blocks in Govan for Elderpark Housing Association.
JR Group and Mast Architects want to deliver the one, two and three-bedroom flats on opposite corners on Nimmo Drive, at Elderpark Street.
Under the plans, the Elderpark Community Centre and the Mac Ventilation warehouse will be demolished to make way for the flats.
Elderpark Housing chief executive Gary Dalziel told Scottish Housing News: “This exciting project is at an early stage and Elderpark Housing is pleased to be working with the JR Group about potentially building high quality new homes on these sites situated in the heart of our community.
“The community centre - which has been integral to the community over many years - has reached the end of its useful life.
“Any new homes on this site will lead on from the partnership project Elderpark Housing is currently working on with Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life on renovating historic Elderpark library into a Community Hub - having secured over £2m for this project. It is due to commence in early 2022.”
