Facilities including Warm Spaces and foodbanks will remain open for anyone to use.

Aberdeen City Council co-leader Councillor Christian Allard said: “Christmas can be a challenging time for individuals and families, especially those dealing with rising costs.

“It is essential that everyone is aware of what support is available in their local communities.”

Council co-leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “Sadly, the services provided by Warm Spaces and foodbanks are becoming ever more vital to many throughout Aberdeen.

“We are grateful to all those involved in providing essential services for continuing to keep their doors open and providing support to those most in need.”

Warm spaces refers to public spaces (council, community and third sector) many of which are run by volunteers and offer a friendly welcome and safe environment for individuals, families and communities to come together, as well as accessing information and guidance.

The new Greyhope School and Community Hub is the latest Warm Space to open in Aberdeen and includes access to Torry Library when the building is open.

Foodbanks across Aberdeen will also remain open, offering a hot meal or food bag to those in need.
