‘Excellent’ results for Kingdom’s support and care services
Kingdom Housing Association has passed recent inspections of its Support and Care services with flying colours.
The inspections carried out by the Care Inspectorate show that Kingdom continues to provide excellent services with four out of the six standards examined resulting in the top Grade 6 – Excellent.
Kingdom supports around 260 people throughout Fife and Falkirk and has been providing high quality and personalised support and care services since 1987.
Support is provided to people with a range of needs in their own homes, including those with: learning disability, autistic spectrum disorder, complex needs, mental health issues, age related needs, homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions. Kingdom also provide temporary homeless accommodation and services.
The association’s aim is to support people to have a safe and secure home, to live as independently as possible in their own home, to live as full a life as possible and to be part of their local community.
The Care Inspectorate said they were impressed with the consistent high quality person-centred outcomes for people using the services and the demonstration of person-centred values in planning and providing people’s support.
The Care Inspectorate commented that the service valued feedback from service users and relatives about the management of the service and were satisfied that the views of most people who use the service and their families are listened to and acted on. They were impressed by the use of social service values, including respect, in the service.
Norah Smith, director of housing and care with Kingdom, said: “We are delighted with the excellent results from the recent care inspection. Managers and staff have worked hard over the past year to make improvements in services, to make sure that the opinions of those using services and their families were heard and acted upon and to make sure that we maintained a person-centred and outcome focussed approach to service delivery. Their hard work has paid off, however, we are not complacent and will continue to improve how we manage and deliver services over the coming year.”
The Care Inspection Reports can be accessed through the Care Inspectorate website and Kingdom’s own website.
