Falkirk Council unveils plan for amenity flats in Bonnybridge
Falkirk Council has announced plans to replace the derelict Bonnybridge Social Club on Main Street with 22 flats for social rent.
The plans are part of an effort to increase the provision of amenity housing across the local authority area.
Intended for the elderly or tenants with physical disabilities, the development is designed to be fully accessible with barrier-free access to all flats.
Falkirk Council wrote in a development statement: “The layout of the development is based on a ‘Block’ form placed between an access road and communal area providing natural surveillance and a sense of community within its immediate context. The flats are orientated to benefit from natural views around the site.”
The council plans to begin work on the development in June next year and intends to complete construction by December 2021.
