Family fun day at Stirling Council Chambers raises awareness of Scottish Housing Day
Stirling Tenants Assembly organised a family fun day at the Council Chambers to raise awareness of Scottish Housing Day 2017.
The event, held in association with Stirling Council’s Housing Service, hosted a range of activities, including the council play bus, face painting, caricature drawing and balloon making for the children.
There were also a variety of information stalls on show from the Council, tenant participation and emergency services.
Scottish Housing Day 2017, which takes place on Thursday 21 September, aims to raise awareness of the latest developments in housing and the options open to people when deciding where to live.
Stirling Council Provost Christine Simpson opened the family fun day and welcomed the contributors and tenants.
Stirling Tenants Assembly chairperson Hugh McClung said: “It was great to have given tenants the opportunity to come along and have a fun and interesting day, while promoting housing and giving tenants the opportunity to be involved in our services.”
Convener of the housing portfolio, Councillor Evelyn Tweed, added: “This was a fantastic opportunity for Stirling tenants and residents to come along and get advice on housing and a wide range of other services. Those I spoke to really enjoyed the day. The caricaturist was especially busy. Well done to all involved in organising the day.”
