Fife Housing Group colleagues ‘make the cut’ for charity

Three Fife Housing Group colleagues recently stepped up support for a charity by having their hair cut so that it could be used to make real hair wigs for children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

Housing manager Beverley Graham, operations advisor Sarah Jones and communications and marketing manager Karen Begg all braved the big chop to donate a massive 36 inches of hair to the group’s charity of the year Little Princess Trust.
They also raised an additional £890 in sponsorship to help with the manufacture of the wigs, which each cost approximately £550 to make.
Local hairdresser, Natasha McOuan of McOuan’s Hairdressing in Dunfermline, kindly agreed to donate her time free of charge and the rest of the Fife Housing Group team got involved by hosting an Afternoon Tea and Tiara’s party to coincide with the main event – raising a further £278.10 to put towards our fundraising total.

The Little Princess Trust was nominated to be charity of the year by a colleague whose daughter lost her hair as a result of alopecia and, over the past year, Fife Housing Group has hosted a number of events including a fussball tournament, sponsored cycle, bake sales, candle parties, tombolas and sweepstakes, smashing its original target of £1,000 to raise over £4,000.
